MBRWizard came about as we were looking for a quick and easy method to automate various MBR tasks, specifically sorting MBR entries and quickly changing the boot partition.   We couldn't find any existing software which could do what we needed, which led to the design and development of MBRWizard. We initially designed MBRWizard with basic functionality as a DOS application, but quickly realized that there was a great need for similar functionality within Windows (specifically for WinPE), which led to the addition of a Windows version, and shortly thereafter Linux.
